You Seem So Unapproachable is a phrase that I have heard around various offices in my lifetime, and have yet to fully understand what it means. I have had it said to me on a couple of occasions. The first time I was mortified and believed that I was genuinely unapproachable to the point that I made an effort to make sure that my office door was open whenever I was in. The second time it happened I realised that it was the other person that was the issue. When I work, I concentrate on what I am doing. If I am on a phone call, I don’t want to be disturbed or for others to listen in. Therefore I was unapproachable because I look busy. I was busy.
